Former Vice President Kamala Harris is considering the launch of an “institute for policy and ideas,” prompting social media users to mock her.

The report first emerged from a recent New York Times article published on Thursday titled “Sidelined and Still Processing Her Defeat, Harris Looks for a Way Back In” which reported on Harris’s current process of figuring out her next move.

The outlet reported that Harris is mulling the decision of whether to make a national comeback and run for president in 2028, or place her efforts on campaigning for the governor of California in 2026.

“Ms. Harris, who jokes to friends that she is unemployed for the first time, has explored options beyond pursuing electoral office, too. She hired the Creative Artists Agency to gauge interest in speaking engagements and a potential book. An aide has held preliminary talks with universities about establishing a policy institute, though some warned that could complicate her political aspirations,” the Times report read.

The report went on to reveal that Harris’s longtime advisor, Brian Nelson, has reached out to Stanford and Howard as potential landing spots to host the think tank.

Following the report, users took to social media to mock Harris for considering the idea of a policy think tank after her presidential campaign was full of “word salads” ultimately appearing hollow.

Educator and advisor Larry P Thomas responded on X, writing: “Since Kamala has no policies and has never had an original idea, it must be AI-produced.”

Washington Free Beacon writer Andrew Stiles sarcastically responded, “Kamala Harris, known for her deep knowledge and ability to articulate complex ideas, is launching ‘an institute for policy and ideas.’”

Conservative X user happydogs2011 took the time to mockingly assist Harris for her “word salad” habit, providing a potential mission statement for the institute, writing: “Mission statement: ‘We believe in ideas. Because when you have an idea, and you think about the idea, that idea becomes… an idea.’”

Republican communicator Matt Whitlock argued that “The ‘Kamala Harris Institute for Policies and Ideas’ sounds a little bit like a Babylon Bee headline. Sort of like if the Kardashians opened a think tank.”
